Five poets each from Cyprus (Cypriot-Greek), northern Cyprus (Cypriot-Turkish) and Berlin (German) will take part in a translation workshop, which will take place from January 23 to 25, 2019 in the rooms of the Goethe-Institut in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The participants will submit three poems in their mother tongue and three in English.direct active communication should help to solve linguistic misunderstandings and problems that arise during translation. The resulting cultural exchange will contribute to better mutual understanding and, in the special case of Cyprus, will also bring about "getting to know one's neighbour".
Every participant will submit three poems and translate six poems during the workshop.
